Rapid injection molding is a true injection molding process. It has many traditional injection molding features. It has written many guidelines for injection mold design. The design guidelines can be summarized into the following three design rules.
First, the injection molding design uses a uniform wall thickness throughout the section.
This will reduce residue, improve mold fill and cycle, and perfectly uniform wall thickness design, with some tips in each section. The marking plastic of the sink solidifies inwardly (in the vicinity of the mold surface) outside the mold, which causes internal tensile stress (due to shrinkage) in the thick portion, which can cause the outer surface to sag, resulting in partial bending. To avoid distortion minimization, the transition between the thickness of the pressure wall in the bending step can be improved by using a slope.
Second, the injection molding design is better designed for each corner radius.
The fillet radius should be at least one material thickness.
Third, injection molding design is better suited to process, material or product design requirements.
The use of a minimum wall thickness ensures rapid cooling, short cycle, minimum weight, which results in the least part of the cost. The injection molding design better uses ribs or wings to improve part of the bending stiffness, thus avoiding the use of thickness to reach the same part, thereby saving part of the weight, material cost, cycle time cost.
